SCLEOA & SCPCA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Job Function: The South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers’ Association and the South Carolina Police Chiefs’ Associations’ Executive Director is selected and employed by the Executive Committee of SCLEOA and the Executive of Board of SCPCA. The Executive Director shall, under direction and supervision of the Associations’ Presidents, serve as the lobbyist and chief administrator of the Associations. The Executive Director shall meet the following qualifications and perform the duties as described. South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers’ Association (SCLEOA) Organization: The SCLEOA is a professional association comprised of 6,000+ law enforcement officers representing each level of federal, state, county, and local law enforcement in South Carolina. The SCLEOA is the largest and most inclusive law enforcement association in the state and has been known as, “The Voice of Law Enforcement in South Carolina Since 1941”. Our core mission is to promote and enhance the law enforcement profession in South Carolina. The South Carolina Police Chiefs’ Association is a professional association comprised of over 200 law enforcement executives in the State. Our core mission to provide training, mentorship, and advocacy for the police chiefs in South Carolina. Expectations: The SCLEOA and SCPCA seeks to replace our current Executive Director upon his departure. The joint Executive Director must be a dynamic and visionary leader with a strong commitment to support the law enforcement profession in South Carolina. It is our desire to find a qualified individual who is capable of managing the high demands of three large Board of Directors and who is willing do what is necessary to successfully complete multiple tasks at one time. Required Experience: Successful candidates will possess the following: - Strong written and verbal communication abilities - Knowledge of and experience in the legislative process in South Carolina - Fundraising and marketing experience - Staff management experience - Experience in budgetary planning - Experience in event planning Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline required; masters preferred.
